Online Writing Lab

Encyclopedia : O : ON : ONL : Online Writing Lab

An Online Writing Lab is usually an extension of a college or university Writing Center. They offer help to students who submit papers electronically for feedback. Some writing centers are also open to people unaffiliated with the institution. Online writing labs play an important part in the writing center in that they allow students to utilize the center's resources who are too busy or unable to attend the regular hours of the writing center.

Online writing labs are often abbreivated as OWL.
