Only Crime is a hardcore punk band formed by Good Riddance singer Russ Rankin and Bane guitarist Aaron Dalbec in 2003. The band plays melodic, but hard hitting punk rock that borrows heavily from early 80's hardcore acts such as Black Flag.
History
In 2002 Russ Rankin found himself ill at ease with the current situation of his band Good Riddance. The band was barely playing at the time, and Rankin was itching to do more touring. He set out to form another band that could be more active and that would pursue his drug/alcohol-free aesthetics. While touring with Good Riddance, Russ had become good friends with Aaron Dalbec from the band Bane. When Russ asked him, Aaron immediately agreed to play the guitar in Russ' new band. Zach Blair and his brother Doni Blair also jumped on ship on the grounds of their bands being less active than they were comfortable with. When Russ was in the Blasting Room with Good Riddance to record Bound By Ties Of Blood And Affection, he asked producer Bill Stevenson to be the drummer in his new project. The project was given the name Only Crime.
