Oonagh McDonald

Dr Oonagh Anne McDonald (born February 1938) is a Labour Party (UK) politician. She was elected Member of Parliament for Thurrock in a 1976 by-election. She became an Opposition spokeswoman on Treasury and Economic Affairs in 1983. But in 1987, against the national trend, she lost Thurrock to the Conservative candidate Timothy Janman. Dr McDonald continued her career in finance, and has served as a member of the Financial Services Commission in Gibraltar.
