Open circuit

Open circuit can mean:

• in electronics, the absence of a load through which electric current would otherwise flow. This can be represented by an infintely large resistance or impedance.
• in breathing set design, a set (e.g. ordinary sport scuba) through which the user breathes and then exhales to the surroundings without recycling the exhaled air or gas.
