Encyclopedia : O : OP : OPU : Opus 69 No 1 (Chopin)
This valse (waltz) is nicknamed the "L'adieu" valse. This slower piece starts off with a beautiful melody that can be heard 5 times throughout the song. Well, this 1 melody starts the song off. Then we go to a new melody with the right hand doing a short and slow trill starting on B flat. Then it flies up 1 octave higher and goes back down. This melody repeats 4 times, and then it starts the melody again, this time a little faster. After that plays 4 times, it goes back to the original melody and plays through. The same 2nd melody process repeats then. The 3rd melody is 2 chords and then goes down to d flat and a trill is then played. It goes back up3 more times each with different chords. The melody is then repeated. Then the 4rth melody starts on a quiet chord, and they it goes up the piano and gets louder an faster with each note. It will then slow down and goes back to melody 3. Then it goes back to melody 4 and once again melody 3. Finally the first melody is played and the ending is a soft chord. During the melody playing, the left hand plays a constant _!! Where the first note is lower and then 2 higher notes are played. Together the piece sounds like one of Chopin’s classics!
