Orcadian dialect

Orcadian dialect is a dialect of Insular Scots belonging to Scots language. It is derived from Lowland Scots with a degree of influence of Norn language, which is an extinct Scandinavian language. Orcadian is spoken in the Orkney islands North of mainland Scotland. Another dialect is Shetlandic, which shares some features of Orcadian.
