Organic geochemistry is the study of the impacts and processes that organisms, and once-living organisms have on the earth.
Organic geochemistry includes studies of recent sediments to understand carbon cycling, climate change, and ocean processes, e.g.), and studies of ancient sediments, to understand the origins and sources of oil petroleum geochemistry.
