Osborne Park, Western Australia

Encyclopedia : O : OS : OSB : Osborne Park, Western Australia

Osborne Park is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Its Local Government Area is the City of Stirling.

Osborne Park, along with (in part) Innaloo, is a local industrial district. Many warehouses and small businesses are located in Osborne Park, as well as some larger retailers including Harvey Norman and Officeworks.

Its post code is 6017.

The area has an interesting history. It was first settled by Chinese market gardners before a wave of Italian immigrant families followed in the same enterprise, including Gino Pozzi, who started a market garden on virgin bushland in the 1920s with his brother Antonio.

After the second world war, many of the market gardens were sold and subdivided for housing as the locality became part of the Perth metropolitan area.

Some of the market gardeners, including Gino Pozzi, retained their large properties, but the last of these have been subdivided for housing estates, including Princeton and Rosalea Estates.
