Encyclopedia : O : OS : OSC : Oscar Álvarez
Oscar Álvarez was Honduran Interior Minister from January 27th 2002 until November 14, 2005 when he unexpectedly resigned days before a general election, and blaming the Liberal Party of Honduras (PLH)'s presidencial candidate Manuel Zelaya's opposition to the anti Mara Salvatrucha laws that the National Party of Honduras (PNH)'s President Ricardo Maduro's government have enacted, as if he had remained a member of the government he woul'd not have been able to criticise Zelaya's stance over the Mara laws. He now works in an unspecified Honduran consulars in the United States, having been sent there after making a request for such a post to Maduro amidst fears for his personal security were he to stay in Honduras. He has a wife called María and they have 3 children.
