OPSA
OPSA is an independent organisation, founded in the mid 1960s, that all Otago Polytechnic students become members of when they enrol. OPSA is about providing for its members - OPSA is run by students for students. OPSA is goverened by an elected body of students.Facilities & Services
OPSA provides access to many facilities & services like the student ID card, [Clubs & Societies centre], a second-hand book shop, [Sports Centre], gYRo a free student newspaper, free pool tables, free campus telephones, the Student Discount Directory, social events, [Job Search], etc.Student Support
It also provides support services like advocacy, campaigns, representation, financial assistance and advice.Education Campaign
Tertiary education was free in New Zealand until 1989 when user-pays was introduced - New Zealand is now one of the [most expensive places] to study. OPSA strongly believes in everyone's right to tertiary education, and that user-pays education creates a significant barrier to this right.
