Otto Toeplitz

Otto Toeplitz (1 August, 1881- 15 February, 1940) was a leading German Jewish mathematician, working in the fields of linear algebra and functional analysis. He was a professor at Bonn, when removed from office by the Nazis. He emigrated to Palestine in 1939, and died in Jerusalem.
