Ou Mountains
Encyclopedia : O : OU : OUM : Ou Mountains
The Ou Mountains (Japanese: 奥羽山脈 [おうう] Ōu-sammyaku) are a mountain range in the Tohoku Region of Honshu, Japan. They stretch 500 km (300 miles) south from the Natsudomari Peninsula of Aomori Prefecture to the Nasu volcanoes at the northern boundary of the Kanto Region. These formed the boundary between Mutsu Province (which contributed the kanji 奥 to the name) and Dewa Province (羽).
The range includes several widely known mountains: Hakkoda, Iwate, Zao, Azuma, and Adatarayama.
The Ou Mountains are the setting for two manga and anime series: and Ginga Densetsu Weed.
