Over-acting

Over-acting, also known as "hamming", is a form of acting which is excessively dramatic to the point where the performance becomes awkward or unintentionally amusing to the audience. Jim Carrey and William Shatner are well known for over-acting, as has been pointed out frequently by media outlets.
