Oxton is a suburb in the Wirral, Merseyside, England, situated to the west of Birkenhead town centre.

Originally a village, it became part of the municipal borough of Birkenhead upon its creation in 1877.

It now forms an electoral ward with a population of approximately 19,500. It was once one of the richest areas in England mainly due to its proximity to Liverpool. Oxton Village is an early Victorian era settlement with fine sandstone and brick built houses, many of which now form part of a [Conservation Area administered by Wirral Council],some of them designated by the Department of Natural Heritage as Grade II listed.
