Ozama River
Encyclopedia : O : OZ : OZA : Ozama River
The Rio Ozama in the Dominican Republic can trace its beginning to the Loma Siete Cabezas in the Sierra de Yamasá close to Villa Altagracia.
The river flows into the Mar Caribe (Caribbean Sea) after lazily running for 148 kilometers, at the end of the journey it splits the capital in Oriental and Occidental halves. Three other rivers flow into the Ozama:
- The Isabela
- The Sabita
- The Yabacao.
- Currently the Ozama River is heavily polluted.
