Peptide YY (PPY) is a linear polypeptide consisiting of 36 amino acids with structural homology to [[NPY}} and pancreatic polypeptide. PYY exerts is action through neuropeptide Y receptors and is secreted by the gut in response to a meal and inhibits gastric motility. PYY has also been shown to reduce appetite.
