Paavo Heininen (born 13 January 1938 in Helsinki) is a Finnish composer. He studied in Helsinki, Cologne and New York. Heininen soon discovered dodecaphony for himself. He composed two operas during the 1980s: The Knife (1985-88) and The Damask Drum (1981-83).
