Pamela Björkman, Ph.D. is Professor of Biology at Caltech and Adjunct Professor of biochemistry at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She got her B.A. in chemistry from University of Oregon and her Ph.D. for Harvard University. She has been an investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 1989. She is doing research in the structure to study the protein interactions involved in immune recognition. She used techniques such as X-ray crystallography and confocal and electron microscopy. She joined the [[United States National Academy of Science in 2001.
