A panel is a newspaper comic strip format that is taller than it is wide. It is contrasted with the strip format, which is wider than it is tall. Most panels are daily strips, such as Dennis the Menace, but a few are Sunday strips. For example, It's Only a Game by Charles Schulz was a Sunday strip that consisted of three panels, with no continuity from panel to panel. Other major comic strips in panel format include Family Circus and Ripley's Believe It or Not.
