Parachute music festival

Parachute is an annual music festival of contemporary Christian music in New Zealand. In previous years the festival has had over 24,000 people attending.

It takes place each summer (usually January) at Mystery Creek in Hamilton. Until 2003 it was held at Totara Springs, Matamata.

It is run by Parachute Music, a Christian music label and retailer.

2005: Third Day, Audio Adrenaline, Grits, Day of Fire, Shawn McDonald, Hillsong United, Ben Lummis, Magnify, Jeff Deyo (from Sonicflood)
2006: Delirious?, Day of Fire, Anberlin, Adeaze, Mumsdollar, DJ Fatty Matthews & DJ Asher

Popular local bands that regularly play at Parachute include Steriogram, The Lads, Brooke Fraser, juliagrace, Late 80's Mercedes, Moped, Wash, Blair Giles, Form, Chris Mason-Battley Group, and Parachute Music's own Parachute Band. Older bands include Soda, Obadiah and the minor prophets, Krusty and John Chal.
