Encyclopedia : P : PA : PAT : Pat Hare
Pat Hare (20 December, 1930 - 26 September, 1980) was an American blues and rockabilly guitarist and singer.
He was born in Cherry Valley, Arkansas. He recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, serving as a sideman for Howlin' Wolf, James Cotton and other artists.
He recorded a song on May 14, 1954, "I'm Gonna Murder My Baby", which has since been released on the 1990 Rhino Records compilation Blue Flames: A Sun Blues Collection and other collections. According to the album liner notes, "I'm Gonna Murder My Baby" "is doubly morbid because he did just that in 1962 and spent the last 16 years of his life in prison."
