The Pathfinder movie, to be released on September 8th, 2006, is about Vikings plundering a Native American village that leave behind a boy in the Newfoundland area. The Native American tribe (as depicted in the film) believe the boy to be a omen from the Earth Mother for their tribe. It is allegedly based on the true exploits of Olaf Tomsson and his group of Norsemen who reached the area that is now Vermont in 950 and destroyed a group of local Algonquian Indians.
