Pauley Perrette (born March 27, 1969 in Metairie, Louisiana, USA) is an American actress.
Perrette studied sociology, psychology and criminal science in college. She graduated with honours and later went on to study for her Master's Degree in Criminal Science.[link]
After years of working in television and film, after a chance meeting while tending bar in NYC for years, Pauley embarked on her current NCIS role. Perhaps somewhat related to her studies, is the profession of her character Abby Sciuto on the TV series NCIS, as Abby is an eccentric forensic scientist. In a segment on Entertainment Tonight, Pauley tours the real NCIS and there learns that Sciuto represents many discipline experts in the real NCIS forensics and they all admire her positive potrayal.
Perrette supports many charity organizations, including animal rescue, the American Red Cross, civil rights, gay rights, etc.
Perrette is not only an actress; she is also a writer, singer, photographer and a poet. She was the lead singer in the Los Angeles based all female band Lo-Ball. She is also a documentary producer and is currently filming a documentary about US civil rights attorney and author Mark Lane.
