People's Weekly World

Encyclopedia : P : PE : PEO : People's Weekly World

The People's Weekly World (PWW) is commonly called the newspaper of the Communist Party USA. It is the direct descendant of the Daily Worker founded in 1924.

Published by Long View Publishing Co., the PWW is known for taking sides and giving partisan coverage to the working class, people of color, women, youth, seniors, and for peace, progress, international solidarity, socialism.

The PWW enjoys a special relationship with the Communist Party USA, founded in 1919, and publishes its news and views.

The PWW is part of the independent and free press tradition in the U.S. and funded exclusively by subscribers and supporters — no corporate money.

Operating with a small staff and a network of volunteers, the PWW produces what many call “the best labor newspaper in the country.”
