Peragus II is a location featured in the video game . References in Star Wars to Peragus are most likely referring to the Peragus Mining Colony located on an asteroid that orbits the planet.
Peragus II's main export was fuel (which Atton Rand mentions as harmful to a ship's engines, "but it gets the job done") until a horrible accident that left an immense crater in the planet's surface and one eighth of the planet an asteroid field. Peragus still mines fuel, not from the planet, but from the asteroid belt that the accident on the main planet spawned. However it is highly dangerous due to the unstable nature of the system, and safety is taken very seriously (no energy weapons are allowed in the facility). In the second Knights of the Old Republic game the Jedi Exile's ship is docked in the space station due to the help of the exile's droid, T3-M4. While the Exile was in the kolto tank, a protocol droid, HK-50, began to deceive the miners to sell the Jedi to the Exchange. It then reprogrammed the mining droids to "mine" any organics and plant explosives to drive the miners into the dormitories where he was able to gas them all. He then killed a sly Coorta and his men and administered a poison to the remaining miners in medbay to ensure that the Exile slept soundly. After escaping the asteroid station in a daring attempt the Ebon Hawk destroyed a smaller asteroid which set off a chain reaction that destroyed Peragus and the rest of the asteroids. The only other ship present was a Republic ship under control by the Sith Lord Darth Sion. It is also possible that the Harbinger may have caused the destruction of Peragus. Whoever caused the destruction of Peragus also caused a valuable source of fuel to be destroyed.
