Peter Pan is a brand of peanut butter produced by ConAgra Foods and named after the J.M. Barrie character. The peanut butter debuted in 1920. It was originally produced by Swift & Company who originally called it E.K Pond. In 1928 they changed the name to "Peter Pan". Peter Pan was originally packaged in a tin can with a turn key and re-closable lid but switched to glass during World War II.
Peter Pan Peanut Butter is sold in several varieties: Crunchy, Creamy, Honey Roasted, as well as a Reduced-Sugar Creamy one.
There is also a brand of peanut butter-filled chocolate treats known as Peter Pan Peanut Butter Cups, manufactured by Frankford Candy & Chocolate Company.
Past spokesmen for Peter Pan included Mark Linn-Baker from TV's Perfect Strangers, and Art James, who, in a famous clip from the TV game show Say When!!, tried to do a live commercial for Peter Pan, but he broke the jar that he was holding, and the peanut butter dripped all over him.
