Pfälzer Wald

The Pfälzer Wald (Palatine Forest) is a densely forested mountain range in south-western Germany, in the state Rhineland-Palatinate. It is named after the Pfalz (Palatinate) region, in which it lies. The Pfälzer Wald covers 1,771 km². Its highest elevation is the Kalmit, at 673 m. Together with the northern part of the adjacent Vosges Mountains in France it forms the UNESCO Biosphere reserve Pfälzer Wald-Vosges du Nord.
