Phillips Ranch is a master-planned community located in the southwestern portion of the city limits of Pomona, in Los Angeles County, California. It is located near the Pomona Freeway (SR-60) and the Chino Valley Freeway (SR-71). The zip code serving the neighborhood is 91766. Phillips Ranch, which is 4 miles southwest of downtown Pomona, is mostly working-to-upper class whites, with some Latinos and Asian Americans.
Phillips Ranch is often referred to by its neighborhood name instead of by the city name. Pomona has had a reputation for crime, particularly homicides, although its murder rate is no worse than the city of Los Angeles. Still, many residents use "Phillips Ranch, CA" as a return address, even though no such postal station exists.
History
Phillips Ranch was the old ranch of Louis Phillips, who acquired the southern end of the Rancho San Jose from Ricardo Vejar for $30,000. Phillips was the first Anglo in the Valley. The land remained largely undeveloped until the late 1970's, when the land was annexed by the City of Pomona for development.Description
Phillips Ranch is bounded by the 71 Freeway to the east, the 60 Freeway to the south, Diamond Bar Blvd. in Diamond Bar to the west, and Mission Blvd. to the north. Elevation of the community is 800 feet, but it's as high as over 950 feet, the peak at the northwestern tip of the neighborhood on Mission Blvd. and Temple Avenue.Main surface thoroughfares in Phillips Ranch

Education
Like the remainder of Pomona, Phillips Ranch is served by the Pomona Unified School District, which stretch as far south as parts of Diamond Bar.External links
