Pick-a-Number

Pick-a-Number is a pricing game on the American television game show The Price Is Right. It is played for a prize worth more than $3,000.
Gameplay
The contestant is shown the price of a prize, with one digit missing. Three possible digits are shown, and the contestant picks one. If the contestant is correct, he wins the prize.Trivia
- This game is seldom played, usually only as a last-minute substitute game when others malfunction. This is because there are no electronic components to the game and it is easy to set up.
- On a 1993 episode, the contestant was shown the Pick-a-Number board. Before host Bob Barker had finished his description of how to play the game, the overexcited contestant grabbed her choice of number, placed it on the board, and pulled up the reveal just to show how wrong she was. Bob spent the next several minutes explaining how the game was supposed to have gone.
- Pick-a-Number could theoretically be played with a 5-digit price, as the dollar sign on the board can be removed; however, because of the way the prop is built, if it were ever tried, the ten-thousands digit could not be the missing number (which would be an incredibly easy proposition, anyway).
- Pick-a-Number debuted on the 4,000th episode of The Price Is Right.
