Piotr Blass

Piotr Blass is a Polish-American-Jewish academic and politician.
He was educated in Poland, England and the United States (B.A.Warsaw University, 1968; M.A. University of Michigan, 1969; M.A. Harvard University, 1976, Ph.D.; University of Michigan, 1977). Student of Zariski, Whitney, Tate, Deligne, Hironaka, Mumford and Ulam. Has been educating thousands of students rannging from inner city schools to Princeton Ph.D’s. for the past 40+ years.
Served in the military in the Yom Kippur War. He was an opponent of the Polish communist regime in People's Republic of Poland.
Created the theory of Zariski Surfaces with Oscar Zariski,Heisuke Hironaka,Pierre Deligne,Alexander Grothendieck and with his Ph.D and other students Jeffrey Lang,Angela Grant,Chris Skinner,Wayne Raskind,Murad Ozaydin,Jurgen Kraft, Fred Schultheis,Scott Flansburg,Derek Davenport,Alain Michnik,James Harper,Willie Johns among others.
Pioneer and true co-inventor of the World Wide Web.The Ulam Quarterly Founding Editor 1987. The other true co-inventor was Berners-Lee from CERN.
Father of three sons Anatol,Oscar and David.
An independent candidate in Florida gubernatorial election, 2006.
