Pitar

Pitar is a fictional planet created by Alan Dean Foster for his Humanx Commonwealth universe. This planet, like Midworld and Ulru-Ujurr, is under Church Edict preventing any contact with the species living on the world.

The native race to the planet is also know as the Pitar, they are human to 96.3% and generally more well-formed, handsome and muscular than typical human standards.

First human contact with the planet was in 2360 AA (After Amalgamation). In 2365 the Pitar destroyed the planet Treetrunk (Argus V) which started the Humanx-Pitar War. A year later humanx scientists invent the SCCAM missile which allows huge improvements in the KK-posigravity drive for spaceships. Both planet and race were destroyed in the Humanx-Pitar War of 2368 AA.

The planet first appeared in the novel Dirge (2000).
