Pontevedra is a province in the southwestern part of the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It is bordered by the provinces of A Coruña, Lugo, and Ourense, and by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean.
Its population is 919,934 (2002), of which no more than 8% live in the capital, Pontevedra. Unusually, the largest city is not the capital, but the city of Vigo. There are 62 municipalities in the province.

The province shares the Parque Nacional de las Islas Atlánticas de Galicia with A Coruña province.
