Pradhan Senapati
Encyclopedia : P : PR : PRA : Pradhan Senapati
Pradhan Senapati, literally meaning "Chief General" (with the word Pradhan meaning "Chief) but usually translated as "Chief of the Army Staff", is the title of the professional head of the Royal Nepalese Army. The rank is considered to be an equivalent of a General of the Army [1].
Pradhan Senapati has its own rank insignia, slightly similar to the United Kingdom rank of Field Marshal. An even higher rank, that of Senadhipati, may be held by the King of Nepal as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The rank of Pradhan Senapti is presently held by General Pyar Jung Thapa of the Nepalese Army.
