Prescott College is an environmentally-oriented private liberal arts college in Prescott, Arizona. Although the school is principally known for its environmental studies program, there are also programs in Cultural and Regional Studies -Religion and Philosophy, Peace Studies, Cultural Studies, Political Economy, Latin American Studies, International Studies-, Human Development, Education, Adventure Recreation, English, Visual Arts and Psychology. There are no dorms, so students must rent properties in Prescott, Arizona. Even so, 95 percent of the college is from outside Arizona. The college is also part of the Eco League, a six college consortium of colleges with strong environmental studies programs. Students can spend two semesters at any of the following colleges at no added cost: Antioch College, Alaska Pacific University, Green Mountain College, Northland College, and College of the Atlantic. Although the school primarily awards bachelors degrees, limited-residency graduate degrees (including a PhD in education) are also available. The college is known for its hands-on approach to learning and high student activist enrollment.
