Production assistant

Production assistant is a filmmaking term for a person responsible for various odd jobs, such as stopping traffic, acting as couriers, getting items from craft service, etc. They also do various administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying,typing/Word processing, taking/making telephone calls and organising the diary for the day. Production assistants are often attached to individual actors or filmmakers.
In television, the term denotes a more senior position, usually an assistant to the producer responsible for co-ordinating and managing many of the important aspects of the production, in many ways an assistant producer.
