Progressive Policy Institute

The Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) is a think tank in the United States, founded in 1989 and affiliated with the Democratic Leadership Council. It describes itself as centrist, although left-wing critics frequently describe it as neoliberal. Its current president is Will Marshall, who writes frequently on foreign policy, defense, national service, and economic and cultural issues. Notable affiliated scholars include Steven J. Nider (defense and foreign policy), Fred Siegel (cultural issues), Paul Weinstein (economic and fiscal policy), Robert J. Shapiro (economics and securities law), Jan Mazurek (energy and environmental protection), Edward Gresser (trade), David Kendall (health care), Michelle Stockwell (social issues).
