Public Administration Select Committee

Encyclopedia : P : PU : PUB : Public Administration Select Committee

The Public Administration Select Committee is a Standing Committee appointed by the British House of Commons to examine the reports of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and the Parliamentary Ombudsman for Northern Ireland.

It considers matters relating to the quality and standards of administration provided by civil service departments, and other matters relating to the civil service.

The Committee chooses its own subjects of inquiry, within it's overall terms of reference. In March 2006, it indicated that it would investigate the "Cash for Peerages" affair.
