A large number of companies operate public transport services in Dublin.
Rail
- Iarnród Éireann, a subsidiary of state-owned Córas Iompair Éireann, operates all rail services in Dublin including the DART.
Tram
- Dublin's Luas tram system is owned by the Railway Procurement Agency and operated by Veolia Transport Ireland (formerly known as Connex).
Bus
Bus services are operated by a number of separate companies which are licenced by the Department of Transport. As the Department does not provide a public information service and there is no overall city transport authority, it is difficult to obtain information about which company serves which area without local knowledge. - [Aircoach] operates 2 express routes from Dublin Airport
- [Ur Bus] route 001 links Dublin Airport and the north-west suburbs of Blanchardstown and Castleknock
- [Morton's] Circle Line routes CL1 and CL2 are limited stop services from Celbridge and Lucan to the city centre, Ballsbridge, UCD and Rathfarnham; they also operate 3 routes linking CityWest with Tallaght Luas stop, Sydney Parade DART station and Dublin city centre
- [Dualway]'s Route 311 operates between Rathcoole and The Square shopping centre in Tallaght; route 505 links Rathcoole and Dublin city centre
- [Alan Martin Coaches] operates routes 860 & 861 serving Parkwest Business Park; they also have 2 local routes in Blanchardstown
- [Hollybus] has a single route linking Kilbride Co. Meath via Hollystown in Dublin 15 with the city centre
- [Finnegan's] operate a local service in Bray, Co. Wicklow from the southern cross road to Bray DART station and main shopping areas of Bray
- [St Kevin's Bus Service] operates a 7-day service between Glendalough, Co. Wicklow and Dublin city centre.
