Pulmonary valve stenosis (or, less commonly, "pulmonic valve stenosis"), abbreviated PVS, is a condition that can result in the reduction of flow of blood to the lungs.
When the stenosis is mild, it can go unnoticed for many years. If stenosis is severe, you may see sudden fainting or dizziness if exercised too much. Stenosis can occur in dogs as well as in humans.
Causes
The most common cause is congenital. If severe, it can lead to blue baby syndrome. It can also be caused secondary to other conditions such as endocarditis.
