Punter

The word punter may refer to:

Someone who uses a Punt (boat).

In British English, a colloquialism for:

* a customer of any business, the usage being primarily found in London and Essex.

In both British English and Australian English punter is also used as a colloquialism for a gambler, particularly an amateur betting on horse racing. Australians also use punting to mean gambling, whereas in British English punting means "boating in a punt".

Punter also means a "dude" in Hindi. For example "Punter hai re ekdum", meaning "He is a cool dude".
