Pyrokinesis

Pyrokinesis is the postulated psi ability to excite the atoms within an object, possibly creating enough energy to ignite the object, and is the theorized cause of spontaneous human combustion. Pyrokinesis would be a minor form of psychokinesis, similar to poltergeist activity. Pyrokenesis is controled by bouts of rage or intense concentration, gathering energy into a singular point and then exciting the atoms enough to cause fire.
In Fiction
Stephen King's story Firestarter prominently features use of pyrokinesis and brought the idea to the mainstream. Contrary to popular belief, Carrie (also of Stephen King fame), does not possess pyrokenisis, rather she started an electrical fire.
The X-Files episode "Fire" dealt with a homocidal pyrokinetic.
