The QWF, which stands for Quality Wrestling Federation is an independent wrestling organization located in Smithtown, New York (Long Island). Still new to the game, the QWF only has two events a year (however, dark matches do occur weekly throughout the Northeastern area). Russlemania occurs sometime during the summer, where right now it is going on Russlemania 3 (for the first time Russlemania 2 was taped and was made into a 2 DVD set). Winterslam is the other event that occurs every year (first time in 2005), which happens on the first "official" day of winter (December 21st).

Russlemania 3

With Russlemania 3 approaching so fast, couple matches have already been announced. The main event will include the QWF champion Mr. Russ versus the number 1 contender, Moustached Marauder for the QWF championship. Also, with Shakas bickering to the QWF management he was able to set up a match between Joey Russ (the youngest Russ wrestler) and Currency member Vallo. Also, just announced last week, the Main Event will look to seek revenge with Mein Fuhrer. If you saw Winterslam 2005, the Main Event lost his match against Vallo because of Mein Fuhrer run it. More matches should be announced in the next couple months, with a total of around 8 on the card.

History

The first official QWF match was for the championship belt when Shaka took on Mr. Russ. Here, Shaka beat Mr. Russ with a perfect form German suplex. At Russlemania 1, Mr. Russ lost once again to Shaka with the Shaka stretch. Then, when one of Mr. Russ kid won a battle royal to become the number 1 contender for the championship at Russlemania 2, he had to quickly give it up to his father because he was joining the army. So finally at Russlemania 2 Mr. Russ was able to get his revenge and hit the Russ Bus to finally bring the belt home.

Flamboyant Frankie Love won the North American title when he outlasted 10 other megastars in an over the top battle royal. However, his championship run did not last long when he lost at Russlemania 2 to his ex best friend Grundletaker. But, once again the title changed hands again at Winterslam 2005, when Steve Russ beat Grundletaker.

Expanding

Winterslam made its debut on December 21st 2005, making the second event of the 2005 year. Rumors are circling that in 2006, the QWF will even expand to three events a year, and maybe even a 2 week tour, however nothing is confirmed. Year by year, the Quality Wrestling Federation is expanding. QWF has even gone myspace at [QWF space] .

Championship Belts

Like the other wrestling organizations, there are championship belts. The highest level one is the QWF championship, which is held right now by Mr. Russ (defeated Shaka in a rematch at Winterslam 2005), and a North American belt, which is held by Steve Russ (won at Winterslam 2005). The Russ family does indeed hold all the gold, for now, but Steve Russ is in the Currency (heel) while Mr. Russ is the top face in QWF. However, for how long no one knows, with the championship being put on the line against the number 1 contender Moustached Marauder at Russlemania 3. It is believed the North American will be on the line as well, however the opponent is still not yet known.

Shaka vs. Mr. Russ

The storied rivalry of Mr. Russ and Shaka has been the reason why the QWF has been so successful. Mr Russ, managed by Mr. Memoli, has wanted a piece of Shaka ever since he was screwed out of the belt in the first official QWF match. Shaka, with "the currency" (Steve Russ, Larry, and newly signed Vallo) keeps on making the people wanting more, but many seem to believe the end is near.

With Shaka being unsucessfel in his rematch with Mr. Russ, with even the help from Mr. Memoli, it appears the Shaka Mr. Russ feud has indeed finally ended, with Mr. Russ ending with the upper hand, and the championship belt.

QWF Management

The QWF management is a team of people who plan what goes on with the Quality Wrestling Federation. However, no one really knows who exactly are on this management team, all the wrestlers know is what they are told to them by Mrs. Russ. The mysterious ways of the QWF management will no doubt reveal themselves sooner or later, which should lead into once again another thrilling storyline.

QWF Megastars

In all wrestling organizations, all the wrestlers are called "superstars", however, in the QWF, the wrestlers are called "Megastars" due them thinking they are more important to their wrestling than anyother wrestler to a wrestling organizations. QWF does not think of themselves as the leader in wrestling, just as a different approach to it, and as an alternative to wrestling watchers.

Glance at 2006

With the new year here, and the awards handed out, the year 2006 will look like the year of the QWF. They have been making baby steps for the last 2 years, and it seems like this is the year they start taking giant strides toward success. With that said, the potential winners for the awards of 2006 are very close. Since Steve Corvin "The Boy Wonder" has locked up the 2007 comeback wrestler of the year, 2006 is still up in the air. Expect an old name and face to come back and make a big difference in the QWF. The moustache of the year will always be close between the Marauder and Mr. Russ, so that also should be interesting to watch. It also seems that Mr. Memoli will not be repeating for manager of the year, since he turned on his best friend Mr. Russ. However, others looking to repeat includes Mr. Russ for most popular and Kelly Russ for best woman. With 2005 being such a good rookie class, 2006 should be interesting with rookies as well. Mein Fehrur and Vallo wil both qualify as rookies in 2006 since they signed so late in the 2005 year. However, both of them don't have the fan support like young Joey Russ does. With his scheduled match against Vallo at Russlemania 3, it seems the winner of that will take home the rookie of the year award as well. Shaka once again seems like he'll come home with a couple awards, with him being the most hated wrestler in the QWF ever. With that award, it also seems Shakas in ring abilities has also increased, which makes him a leading candidate for most improved. Also, with Shaka talking so much, it seems once in a while he has some good lines, which keeps him the running for best line of the year. The scenes that were up for best moment in 2005 are hard to duplicate, however with 2006 expecting to be so big for the QWF, there will be a number a choices for it. Match of the year right now before there has actually been a match is Mr. Russ Moustached Marauder, but, with such a good Russlemania 3 card coming together, there could be a number of matches in the running.
