Queen Mary class battlecruiser

The HMS Queen Mary was the only Battlecruiser of the Queen Mary class. She was an improvment on the Lion class battlecruisers. Though often incorrectly associated with the Lion class, she was offically part of her own class. Improvments included increased armor protection, gun placement and that she was slightly larger. She participated in the Battle of Jutland and was sunk during this engagment. See HMS Queen Mary
