Quickness
Encyclopedia : Q : QU : QUI : Quickness
Quickness is the fifth full-length studio album from hardcore punk and reggae pioneers Bad Brains. At the time of its release, it was the best selling Bad Brains album and also featured a video for MTV with the lead-off track "Soul Craft." For reasons still yet to be determined, drummer Earl Hudson, though still with the band at the time, did not play drums on the album. Instead, former Cro-Mags drummer Mackie Jayson played drums on all tracks.
The album was a crossover release that contained elements of several genres, including funk, hip hop, heavy metal, punk, and reggae. Despite the various genres represented, the album remains one of the heaviest Bad Brains albums in the band's catalog.
