Quim is slang for the female genitalia. It can also refer to a woman or women collectively; this is offensive. In modern usage it is primarily heard in British speech. While now rare in England, the term is still used, particularly in Wales, though largely as a generic insult rather than with its principal meaning.

The Oxford Dictionary of Modern Slang says: "of uncertain origin; perhaps related to the old word queme pleasant."

Uses

The term was used in the film Rob Roy (1995) by the Duke of Argyll (played by Andrew Keir), "couldn't tell arse from quim, eh?".

Other meanings

In Portuguese, Quim is a short form of the name Joaquim.
