Ramsay Street
Encyclopedia : R : RA : RAM : Ramsay Street
Ramsay Street is a fictional street in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. It is located in the fictional suburb of Erinsborough, Melbourne. It is the heart of the show, being home to the majority of all past and present characters. The street is a cul-de-sac and a close-knit community. The show only focusses on the six houses at the end of the street.
Ramsay Street is named after the Ramsay family, who were a prominent family in the area historically, and when the show began. Although this family has since left the show, a large number of families and characters have come and left the street. Harold Bishop is the only character still living in Ramsay Street that is in any way linked to the Ramsays, having been married to Madge Ramsay-Mitchell-Bishop for 13 years before she died of pancreatic cancer.
The real Ramsay Street (the set at which the outdoor scenes are filmed) is Pin Oak Court, Vermont South. The indoor scenes are filmed in a studio, and because of this there are occasionally discrepancies between the appearance of the inside and outside of the houses.

Former Residents
- No.22 Bought by the Daniels Corporation in 1986, Gail Lewis moved into the house in 1987 and it became the second family home after her marriage to Paul Robinson in June 1987. Paul continued living there, throughout the end of his marriage to Gail and his next marriage to Christina Alessi. Paul moved away in 1992 but retained the house until 1993. In 2005, Paul returned to Erinsbourough and purchesed the house back and it is currently the home of the remaining Robinsons.
- No.26 The traditional home of the Robinsons is No.26 Ramsay Street, a large grey brick house at the top of the cul-de-sac. Jim Robinson bought the house in the early 1960s and lived there until his death in 1993. Jim's mother-in-law, Helen Daniels, who had lived with the Robinsons since the death of Jim's wife Anne in 1975 received the house in his will and lived there until her death in 1997. Philip Martin and his family lived there until they sold the house in 1999 to the Scully Family. The Sale of No.26 in 1999 is regarged with suspicion by many fans as in Jim's will it was stipulated that upon Helen's death, his children Paul, Lucy, Scott and Glen would all equally inherit the house.
- No.30 Jim Robinson bought No.30 and rented it to Paul and Terry as a wedding gift in 1985. Paul only lived there for a few weeks before Terry shot him. He moved back into No.26 immediately after leaving hospital. Matt lived at No.30 with his mother Hilary between 1989-1990.
