Ranan Lurie

Ranan Lurie (born 1932) is an Israeli and American editorial cartoonist and journalist, a Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a member of the United Nation Correspondents Association, and the editor of Cartoon News magazine.
He became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1974.
Lurie lives in Greenwich, Connecticut with his wife, [Tamar Lurie] and is the father of film and television director and screenwriter Rod Lurie.
The Ranan Lurie Political Cartoon Awards were created in 2000 to recognize cartoons that "enhance, explain and help direct the spirit and principles of the UN." The Awards, named for UNCA member Ranan Lurie, are worth a total of $18,000.
