Randwick is a suburb in the City of Randwick in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Its postcode is 2031.
It lies 5 kilometres south-east of the Sydney central business district. The name Randwick comes from the village of Randwick in Gloucestershire, England, birthplace of the district's first mayor Simeon Henry Pearce.
The Prince of Wales Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women and Sydney Children's Hospital are all located in the suburb. The University of New South Wales is also located close to Randwick city centre.
Randwick has two shopping centres, both on its main street, Belmore Road. Other major streets in the area include Alison Road, High Street, Avoca Street & Silver Street. "The Spot", an area containing a cinema and various cafes and restaurants, is also in the suburb of Randwick.
The Primary schools in the suburb are Claremont College, Randwick Public School, The Joseph Varga School and Rainbow Street Primary.
Secondary Schools include Brigidine College, Marcellin College, Randwick Boys' High, Randwick Girl's High and the Open High School (Located on the site of the old North Randwick High).
The churches in the area include Randwick Uniting, St Jude's Anglican and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic.
Adjacent Suburbs are Kensington, Maroubra, Coogee and Centennial Park.
