Rat Salad
Encyclopedia : R : RA : RAT : Rat Salad
"Rat Salad" is a two-and-a-half minute instrumental by Black Sabbath, from their 1970 album Paranoid. The song is structured very similarly to Led Zeppelin's Moby Dick or Cream's Toad in that the most prominent feature is a drum solo by Bill Ward, bookended by guitar riffs by Tony Iommi. It is the seventh track on the album. When Van Halen was deciding on a band name, they almost went with Rat Salad, in reference to this song.
