Raycraft Ranch killifish
Encyclopedia : R : RA : RAY : Raycraft Ranch killifish
The Raycraft Ranch killifish (Empetrichthys latos concavus) was first described in 1948 and was found to be endemic to Raycraft Spring, an isolated spring in Nye County, Nevada. The Raycraft Ranch killifish and the closely related Pahrump Ranch killifish (Empetrichthys latos pahrump) became extinct in the late 1950s as a result of the introduction of carp (Cyprinus spp.) and desiccation of the springs from over-pumping of groundwater.
